Please join us in an opportunity for adult learners, staff, and volunteers of ECALA-funded learning opportunities. The tour is provided by the Woodland Cultural Centre in Six Nations Reserve. It is a cultural interpretive Centre, museum and the historic site of The Mohawk Institute Residential school. This school was opened in 1828 as the “first” residential school in Canada until its closure in 1970. The video tour, led by a guide, will provide an opportunity to walk throughout the building from the girls’ and boys’ dormitories, the cafeteria, laundry room, and other rooms throughout the school. After the tour, there will be an opportunity to hear interviews from five Survivors of the Mohawk Institute Residential School. There will be a Question/Answer session with one of the Woodland Cultural Centre’s staff to address any questions you may have about the school.

Registration is now closed.
