Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre

Norwood Child & Family Resource Centre (Norwood) is an Edmonton-based organization that has been supporting children and families since 1963. Our main Centre in the Alberta Avenue area acts as a community hub and provides a place where families can feel a sense of belonging and connectedness to others. We have provided Parent Link Centre programming in the central and northeast communities since 2014 such as parenting programs, parent/child literacy programs, financial literacy, developmental screening, family activities and events.

Healthy Children, Healthy Families, Healthy Communities

Norwood builds on the strengths of children and families through support and education to optimize child development and connect families to community.

We use a holistic approach to meet the emotional, social, health and emerging needs of families in the community.

We strongly believe that when we work with children, we do so within a trauma-informed and strength-based model, and never in isolation of families and communities.

Our programs focus on prevention and early intervention in early childhood and family support.

Programs include:

  • Early Learning and Care Program (Early Childhood Development and Respite)
  • Head Start
  • Family Support Services and Home Visitation
  • Parent Education Programs
  • Parent/Child Development Programs
  • Cooking Programs
  • Counselling (program and individual)
  • Supervised Visitation

Partnerships are vital to our success in delivering seamless services to the community.  To this end, Norwood is a part of the C5 collaborative. This collaborative and others we partner within the community support the needs of over 30,000 Edmontonians from birth to death.
