The mission of P.A.LS. is changing lives through literacy. The mandate is to provide opportunities for adults who have low literacy – reading, writing, math, and English language skills so that they can fully participate in the community, make informed decisions, and improve employment. The strategy is that volunteers from the community tutor/mentor the adult learners in small groups, 6 to 8 adult learners and one to one tutoring. The adult learner builds on their current skills to increase capacity and meet goals.
